Not necessarily, science has its fraud..
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic We're not talking about pseudo-science. Just science.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
I will repeat...
science has its fraud.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic I'm concerned you are confusing new age thinking and fundamentalist zealotry with the testable hypotheses of science.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
Again you are imposing your thoughts on my response.
I stated “Science” periodt!
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic Yeah, but...
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
hawking operated off of fear to promote himself.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic Yeah, but that's not really science... it's not science at all since there is an ulterior motive.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
hawking was a theoretical physicist, like it or not he represents science even though he used it for his own purposes.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic Hawking wasn't a fraud; he was human.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
He promoted his own human desires before mankind’s interests; that is a fraud.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic And, it's not science. Even scientists aren't "on the clock" 24/7.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul That is what I am saying, just like you promoting your post. There will always be a conflict between self interest and what benefits all.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic But science is a candle in the dark... if the scientific method is used. Like any tool, process, or method there is the risk of abuse. You can deal with that.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
I am saying that in the field of science that you have humans that are blinded by their own features and your description in the post contains a very limited and undeserved metaphor
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic You are conflating science with human frailty and bias. I suppose you could argue science doesn't exist without humans the same way a falling tree makes no sound if no one hears it. Yet, that is not the way science should be assessed.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
I am talking in terms of corruption and fraud. Try as one may you can’t unlink the scientific models and the perceived reality of humans regarding the imaginations of man. In the past few years many theories are being decimated through real data.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic That's why it seems science is a "candle" not a high powered "turn night into day" LED light.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
When the bad scientists use it to procure funding on bad info or some models are sold under the impression that all scientists agree with the model it becomes more of a deceptive veil rather than a light.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic Tbh, it seems like you have an axe to grind based on a personal slight.

@Pfuzylogic It's not demeaning. It's an educated assessment based on your side of the conversation. Being unnecessarily defensive gets in the way of science.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul
How are you qualified to make this assessment. Have you even completed an undergrad in any field at all?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic That's a distraction... let's stay on topic.
Pfuzylogic · M
@MarkPaul So you don’t have anything beyond a high school diploma or GED?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Pfuzylogic That's not true. I'm at University.
