I Received Corporal Punishment At School
Rule or switch on the palm of hands. For bad grades or misbehaviour at school, I got the 'reword' at home, with the belt.

At my junior school (8-11) the cane on the palm was the standard punishment, usually just one stroke. The cane used was a lighter junior school cane, suitable for use on the hands. I cannot ever recall any injuries.

@Retrospection1: You are right: we had to get it stoically in the class for not making a laughing-stock of ourselves, even after getting 5 strokes many of us had tears in their eyes.
