schools should NOT use corporal punishment 🧐

in 2023 my state finally banned paddling in all public schools, but there’s still a handful of private/christian schools that permit corporal punishment.
my cousins children attend a christian school that allows it & my cousin signed the permission form 🤦🏻‍♀
i’m sorry but i don’t respect any parent who would allow that…like, you gonna let someone you don’t even know and trust lay hands on your child?? like, what’s wrong with you? actually?
& i feel like discipline starts at home…don’t expect teachers to do the parents’ job, i don’t know just a little rant bc i just found out my cousin signed the permission form lol.

It really is the parents' job, but if they have to sign a permission slip, I don't see a big problem with it. I hope that the parents can at least trust the staff there.

@BohemianBabe i hope but i don’t know. there were so manyyyyyyy bad teachers at my school, so many sickos in today’s world. i wouldn’t trust anyone, other than my mom, to spank my kid but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♀
@LaurenRae That's fair, I mostly agree with that. I guess the counter-argument is that so many parents don't discipline their kids anymore, even when their kids misbehave constantly at school. So it's like, if the teachers have to babysit a kid all day, they need to be able to use discipline. But yeah, I also get your take.

@BohemianBabe yeah i definitely think parents need to start disciplining their kids more, 100% but idk i feel like only a parent/grandparent should handle any physical discipline. i am so thankful for my mom because without her i’d have to put my child in daycare & i do NOT trust daycares because of all the abuse that goes on 😭 you literally can’t trust anyone anymore.
@LaurenRae I do wonder if abuse in places like daycare and school have gotten worse, or it's just that now with the internet, we hear about these cases a lot more. It might be like how crime has been steadily dropping since the eighties, but people think crime is worse than ever because of the media.
I don't know, I'm just glad I don't have any kids.
