Should the death penalty exist or is it a fair punishment??

Death penalty is sort of irreversible, isn't it?

@helenS I agree. If we could always be 100% certain of innocence and guilt then maybe. We are not so no.

@JackJames I'm not strictly against corporal punishment, but the death penalty is wrong, and exactly for that reason.

@helenS same. I always have to put the caveat about it but I’m a firm believer that a lot of people act a particular way because they haven’t had a good punch to the face for saying something offensive to someone.

@JackJames Consider a mother of two who is imprisoned for two years because of something criminal she did. And her kids will lose their mother. I could imagine that corporal punishment might be a working alternative.
