Most teachers looked forward to going back if they'd had a good summer break, if I remember correctly. When I didn't, I stopped. The anxiety came only when there was a new regime in the school which went against what you believed in and I remember waiting to see if a new headteacher was going to 'clear out' all of us established staff by putting pressure on, or if there was going to be a new and exciting collaboration with colleagues.
I always enjoyed meeting my new classes for the first time.

My sister is a retired teacher. She enjoyed teaching. Most of her students were great. Very few gave her trouble. She did say that the current generation of students tend to have more problematic behaviour.

Soak it all in.
My kids are back next week.. They are both feeling the pinch.
My daughter is anxious cuz she doesn't know what teacher she has, and my son because none of his friends are in any of his classes.
