@TexChik That has no place in schools. It should only apply to military, law enforcement, and government employees/contractors. NOT for students! Just like bibles have no place in schools.

"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
Because it includes a reference to God, it is automatically invalid regardless of my view it has no place in schools and the education system in general.

@TexChik I do agree with including civics in school education for sure, but not as an insular curriculum focus. It should teach about the country, how the political and legal systems work, and it's place in the world as a whole. Making school students 'pledge' to the flag is really toxic in my view.
