Idaho classroom ordered to take down a sign that read "Everyone is Welcomed Here," after it was found to be offensive towards racists.

Apparently the school in exact words, told the teacher that a sign in her classroom that read "everyone is welcomed here," counts as a personal opinion and wasn't allowed. This was after four years it was hung there. The school said that the sign was offensive to people who didn't believe that and it wasn't acceptable.

She was specifically told that not everyone believes everyone is welcome and therefore counts as a personal opinion.

No surprise. I think it is just a peanut in the bigger t*rd known as "the school system".
Not even about politics. What it IS - anything that might bring a brief smile, or make the student's day just a little more sufferable, the school system does not allow.

It's like if the kids are not bored and miserable the entire time, the school is not happy.

Do you remember our respective school daze, er, days, when anything the students found for entertainment, the district soon forbode?

Plus, these principals and admins think too highly of themselves.

When I was in 4th grade, in our weekly school news letter, they announced a poetry contest. First and second prize - have lunch with the principal and vice principal.
WHAT IN SAM H3LL KIND OF AWARD IS THAT?

My dad saw that and in a very proud tone said, "I wonder if *I* might have a chance?" I was horrified until my mom started laughing.

I am just glad I will never have to d*ck with the school system again.

@HoeBag Schools are made to conform, they aren't even teaching like how humans naturally learn anyways, everything we do is counter intuitive to how we are.

@SatanBurger I guess schools in a lot of nations are like that.

Ya know though, school was by far the strictest "job" most of us have ever had. I know from experience that not even the military is as strict as school. Well maybe basic training but after that, not really.
