i did not know i had 2 catholic students

i did not know i had 2 catholic students until i asked their classroom teacher why they did not come with the rest of the students that meet with me on wednesday. she said they were excused that day due to attending mass. I find it interesting that catholics would send their kids to our school or they be accepted given our church's view on catholicism. Theres a catholic k through 8th and a catholic high school in the large city nearby.

Sometimes its about location. I attended an all boys Catholic (I'm a Catholic) school growing up and we had Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists and Taoists. We had closing prayer during assembly and those other kids were told to pray to whichever deity they believed in as well.

It was always something simple like to give thanks for the knowledge we received and for having joy with our friends.

@Mountainlady16 Catholics are Christians and all Christians date back to the catholic church even if it is all the way back to the protestant reformation.

You have many mistakes in your beliefs of Catholics throughout this and that is sad. You should study and learn the facts or you are doing nothing but gossiping and Christ never said go forth and gossip.

Well i am catholic and we accept all faiths at our schools maybe you should just be respectful of them most Catholics i know have a great respect for the mennonites and the amish. Just because we worship in different ways it is the same God. The biggest difference is adult baptism vs child baptism. The reasons why Catholics practice child baptism is because baptism, it is a free gift from God. This gift should be open to all Christians from birth onward. Catholics have what is known as confirmation where a young adult accepts the faith and then takes on the responsibilities of their faith.

Good luck i hope both faiths can appreciate the unique difference and learn from each other.
I went to a catholic school and I'm a whole Muslim. I don't think everyone cares about the religious aspect as much if they think the school is good.

@HijabaDabbaDoo possibly depending on where they live driving to the city might be to far were just a baptist school and we have some pretty strong views on catholicism

@Mountainlady16 maybe your views are not based on facts and just gossip. Education should make you learn more and find out what is true and what is a lie. Most beople who disagree with a religion have never looked at the reasons they dislike the other and see from the source if it is true so if i want to learn if something is true or false read a book from someone of that faith telling or explain why it is a belief.

Why exclude them ?
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@pdockal to allow pagans in our school? if we allowed non protestant children we might as well send them to public school

@Mountainlady16

Isn't that descrimination ????
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@pdockal its a private school we can choose who we allow in our school
Perhaps if you understood the Gospels, this would be less of a conundrum for you.
@Mountainlady16 Not all true believers are Mennonite.

Simon was Jewish, as was Jesus.

@SomeMichGuy i know that im saying catholics arent
@Mountainlady16 Then you bring down the judgment of the One Who Is upon your head, for judgment is HIS, not yours.

This is a religious "-ism"...and you completely ignore what Jesus said.

HIS requirement is that you believe in Him.

So if you do that and also think the Bishop of Rome is the successor to Peter, or that cooking a certain way us the right way, or some added nonsense of Paul (who seems to be a misogynist), or teachings of the Mennonites added on top of what Jesus Himself requires...if you believe in Him, do you fulfill HIS requirement?

@Mountainlady16

Do you get any federal aid ?

Are you christian ?

What teachings do you follow ?
Mountainlady16 · 22-25, F
@pdockal no we do not. Yes we are Christians and we follow the teachings of Mennonite church. We allow nonmennonite protestants in our school just not ppl other faiths. Which we consider the catholics another faith

@Mountainlady16

I know that we accepted other Christians in our religious schools because of our teachings
Sounds like you do also But you have an issue with that
Not very Mennonite of you is it ?????
