It depends on how old the child is. The child’s words can’t do any harm, because the child has no power there. So the only problem is that interrupting people is rude.
If the child is old enough to understand that, then I might scold the child for interrupting. If they’re old enough that I know they know better, then I’ll punish them when we get home.
If the principal doesn’t seem to be offended, then I won’t scold them until we’re alon, and I might not punish them.
