My daughter's year head requested an informal meeting

So I popped into her office yesterday after our dance club session had finished. Slightly in trepidation, given daughter's mixed disciplinary record 馃槓 But it was to tell me that my girl is going to be made a junior prefect and anti-bullying advocate. At the beginning of last week she and her friends stepped in to help a younger girl who was being picked on. They confronted the bullies, removed the girl from danger, and reported the incident. More importantly they let the girl join their group and involved her with their activities until she had regained her confidence. The girl's parents contacted the school with a message of appreciation and now all three girls are going to be recognised in assembly.

My daughter kept quiet about all of this. But I think I'll be allowed to raise the subject when she gets home today 馃槉

Well done for her, I hate buying.

@happygoluckygal There's a policy of zero tolerance of bullying at our school but it still requires students to call it out.
