I threw a paper dart

You have brought back a memory of instances when I was caned at boarding school, and on one memorable occasion I was caned with ten strokes, not only for writing a rather risque note but for two spelling mistakes therein. Friends whom I thought would be sympathetic simply wanted to see my bruised behind later and the lines of raised weals. Still at least I was caned in the privacy of the head's office, it was much worse at school when caned in the dormitory in front of many others, and trying to remain stoic often without sucess by cane stroke number 5 or 6!!! Golly that was 50 years ago but seems like last week

We called them paper airplanes but I suspect they were the same. I once circulated a written version of an anatomically incorrect limerick. It was in my handwriting so no denying authorship. Big consequences were threatened but none was actually implemented. The warning sufficed to prevent a repetition ever (by me, that is).

We often did things like that in class as an ongoing dare. It was a challenge to see how much one could get away with before being called out the the front for the slipper.

Back then, every student's worst fear at school was being sent to the office for a meeting with the PriEducation.ncipal and the Board of Education.

Yes, those chairs are horrible. They should invest in better quality for the tender bottoms of young children.
