If you were given the choice between paddling or detention at school

@Crazychick Those who did detention told me they tended to get the slipper anyway.

@Sharon They were very fortunate. Still, at least I got it at home.

@Crazychick There weren't many lessons where at least one or two of us weren't called out to the front for the slipper. I got it at home a lot too.

@Crazychick We got "letters of misconduct" in school, to be signed by a parent and taken back to school the next day, and everyone knew what that signature would imply.

@Crazychick Teachers would wash their hands in innocency, of course. I still remember their grinning faces the next day when they checked that parental signature.
