So completely sickening

Just two days before students at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, were set to begin their summer break, an 18-year-old lone gunman rushed his way into the school and opened fire on classrooms of young children, killing 19 students and two adults, officials said. The gunman was killed by law enforcement and is also believed to have shot his grandmother before carrying out the attack, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. In a national address last night, President Joe Biden called on the US to turn its collective pain into political action. Authorities are continuing to search for clues about the gunman's motive. Yesterday's tragic event marks the deadliest school shooting in nearly a decade since 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. It is so sad that it was innocent children who perished. God bless them and may they rest in peace

Evil but the answer is NOT getting rid of guns. The bad guys pay the law exactly zero attention and they will always have guns. Felons are not allowed by law to have guns yet they still do!

Getting rid of guns worked elsewhere. It would work here too. @NoGamesTolerated

@Imsleepy why do you think that? The uk and aus gun bans didn't lower the homicide rate significantly at all.

Also why do you think the us is comparable to any country like that? We have hundreds of millions of guns privately owned, we're the biggest drug market in the world and share an unsecured border with a drug producing country partially ran by the drug running cartels. The illegal market is vast and gun laws do nothing to stop illegal guns.

If gun laws are the answer why are the places with the highest rate of gun crime so often places with very strict gun laws?

"Just ban guns like other places" is such a childish, uninformed view.
@Anon066 a voice of reason… merci!!

@NoGamesTolerated When I was in school half the trucks in the parking lot had guns hanging in the gun rack, especially during hunting season. Most guys and several of the girls carried knives and we never heard of school shootings back then. Now 6 year olds are hauled out in handcuffs for bringing a plastic water pistol to school and you better not have a box cutter locked in you car on school property cause you never know when someone might get the urge to search it.
Something's wrong here. Some of these people, maybe even most of these people were known to have problems and somehow managed to fall through the cracks.
How exactly did an 18 y/o get body armor? Why would an 18y/o need body armor? Why did no one question this and report it? Or did they, and maybe no one took it serious? And since obviously he had the ability to acquire body armor what else could he have purchased if he had wanted to?
@robb65 Brainwashed and indoctrinated youth that feel entitled… no wonder things are where they are… They don’t want to hear truth nor reason.
