So completely sickening

Just two days before students at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, were set to begin their summer break, an 18-year-old lone gunman rushed his way into the school and opened fire on classrooms of young children, killing 19 students and two adults, officials said. The gunman was killed by law enforcement and is also believed to have shot his grandmother before carrying out the attack, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. In a national address last night, President Joe Biden called on the US to turn its collective pain into political action. Authorities are continuing to search for clues about the gunman's motive. Yesterday's tragic event marks the deadliest school shooting in nearly a decade since 20 children and six adults were killed at Sandy Hook Elementary School in 2012. It is so sad that it was innocent children who perished. God bless them and may they rest in peace

It's very sad.

18 years old..just finishing school himself, probably.

I believe there's something inside a person that makes the choice to harm or kill others... no matter which weapon.

Tragically unavoidable if there were gun laws. 😓

@Anon066 Amp up or prohibit the sale of firearms?

@Lilymoon amp up how, prohibit who?
@Lilymoon I think in this case it would have been hard. He was of legal age and had no history of criminality or mental illness so he would have slipped by even the most stringent gun control measures. The only thing that may have stopped it is banning the sale of pretty much all firearms but that will never happen. I definitely believe in stringent gun control but I also believe in identifying people suffering from mental illness and getting them help before they commit these types of atrocities. Some people can't be helped and the first sign of trouble is when they go on a shooting spree in those cases I'm not sure what you can do 😞

To stop this murderous insanity The U.S. must enact serious gun control laws.

Take action! Write your Reps, Senators, The President. Demand gun control laws be enacted now.

Here are some gun control advocacy groups to join and donate to:

@badminton I saw this coming.
Evil but the answer is NOT getting rid of guns. The bad guys pay the law exactly zero attention and they will always have guns. Felons are not allowed by law to have guns yet they still do!
@Anon066 a voice of reason… merci!!

@NoGamesTolerated When I was in school half the trucks in the parking lot had guns hanging in the gun rack, especially during hunting season. Most guys and several of the girls carried knives and we never heard of school shootings back then. Now 6 year olds are hauled out in handcuffs for bringing a plastic water pistol to school and you better not have a box cutter locked in you car on school property cause you never know when someone might get the urge to search it.
Something's wrong here. Some of these people, maybe even most of these people were known to have problems and somehow managed to fall through the cracks.
How exactly did an 18 y/o get body armor? Why would an 18y/o need body armor? Why did no one question this and report it? Or did they, and maybe no one took it serious? And since obviously he had the ability to acquire body armor what else could he have purchased if he had wanted to?
@robb65 Brainwashed and indoctrinated youth that feel entitled… no wonder things are where they are… They don’t want to hear truth nor reason.

Just evil 🥺

@Fairydust I totally agree

@SW-User I’ll never understand how anyone could do that. 😞

@Fairydust Mental illness,for sure
Unfortunately, to a significant number of people in the U.S. those lives are not worth changing the availability of guns. To these people, fetuses are more important in terms of activism and legislation. Not living, breathing children at school. 😞
@SW-User Thank you. Some coward downvoted it. Hit too close to home, I imagine.
