whats with schools bringing in Drag Queens to read to children?

What the hell has happened to the education system? How did it get to this point?

This is really a philosopical question. Trans people are a part of society. Some educators want to stop fear and bigotry early by letting the school kids meet a diverse group of people.
This is not my personal opinion but I understand the logic.
I do not equate trans with racial identity because I think that our fights are different but many people see trans folks and minority groups as the same.
So in other words, what's wrong with allowing any adult to read to kids?
Why does it matter that the person in trans?
Again I am playing devil's advocate here.

@REMsleep last i heard drag queens are not trans people

@Torsten Well you are right. I thought that you were using that term very loosely, not specifically a drag queen.
A drag queen might be going a bit too far for sure but again depending on how liberal the school admins ideology is the logic is the same.
Stopping fear and bigotry against any group in our society. Treating all people as regular folks regardless of how they dress.

@REMsleep only referring to drag queens being brought into schools to read to children. Nothing to do with trans people

@REMsleep
Trans people are a part of society
so are rapists and serial killers, should we let them read stories to children in schools? 🙄

@wildbill83 Obviously society at large or at least enough of society(media, political leaders, schools admins or whoever is making decisions) have decided that Drag Queens and or Trans people are a protected non dangerous group of people. They have been provided protected status by the government so this is not considered under the law to be similar to criminals.
I'm not a Trans or Drag Queen advocate. I am pointing out how this can't be easily addressed because there are two distinct ideologies at play and each side has their own point of view.
