Turning 28

I used to be a dreamer. I wanted to be a musician, a writer, a photographer, an artist, a church worker, and a business owner. But now I'm 28, and I barely have the skills I needed to be what I wanted to be.

I was rejected to my dream company, I did not accept an offer from the biggest media company in our country because the starting salary won't pay my bills, and I settle on things that I never wanted.

I think the magic of being a kid is having the courage
on making a big dream. It's just hard when you're old and you no longer care if you'll disappoint other people. I'm afraid to disappoint myself.

There is still a lot of time in life for you. Everything happens for a reason and the turn in life shall come when it's due. Don't let your frustrations and disappointments of your past dreams affect your future. Start dreaming afresh with your experience in life. Like for instance you can still be a business owner by partnering with someone without giving up your job, and develop the business part time.

So start finding ways to realise your dreams. Doing something about everything that you want to, is real experience.

I went back to college at 30. Best decision I ever made. I've worked in photography and video based on my degree and the doors it opened.

Not saying you should do the same but you're at a great age to find a direction.

@JohnnyNoir this is a good idea

@sugarpie it seems we're expected to know exactly what we want at an early age and by the time you're around 30 you should be well on the way to that goal. That's not how life works for everyone. Dont feel pressured that you should have it all together now. You'll get there

Sometimes what you think is your dream job is nothing like what you imagined.
But that's not to say you can't have another !
And if you're feeling stuck in life try a college course.
Something that interests you. That will put you together with like minded people all studying together.
You'll share thoughts and ideas as well as experiences and shared solutions to problems you've all probably faced.
