Dating when cash-poor

Now that I have a mortage taking 60 pct of my after-tax pay, I've hit yet another impost for dating - an actually lack of money day-to-day that is similar to but different to when I last faced such a situation when I was unemployed about 10 yrs ago.

Back them however I was already in a relationship (with my 2nd ex).

So without access to ready cash so-to-speak, is it worth even trying to do dates or just let it drop until I can improve the finances to 'fund' having romantic connections to others?
