Time to ditch Nestle products perhaps ..

Nestlé, one of the world's biggest food companies, says it is further restricting its operations in Russia. The company announced the move Wednesday, days after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy publicly criticized it for continuing to do business there."

I thought that, but they produce essentials like baby formula so I guess they have more justification than most to continue operating in Russia.

@SunshineGirl what you say is true... But how's the formula situation in the Ukraine i might ask

Also many years back nestle was in the poo for persuading poor people in Africa to give up breast feeding and use formula instead... With no clean water and limited funds it was often watered down...

@ozgirl512 I'm no fan either, but some families do depend on it.

I'm not easy about squeezing Russia until the pips squeak. Ordinary people are suffering most from sanctions while the oligarchs continue to find ways to move their wealth around the world.

@SunshineGirl i hear you... But i still think Ukrainians are suffering more
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@ozgirl512 Definitely.

@ozgirl512 When it comes to the health of babies of all things, it probably shouldn't be a competition. Nestle's rotten to the core, Russia's rotten to the core, but this seems like a strange choice of issue to get excited over...
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins maybe ...i just think the suffering should be shared amongst those that are causing it
BlueVeins · 22-25
@ozgirl512 I agree, but the babies aren't the ones causing it.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins true.. But they're parents are
BlueVeins · 22-25
@ozgirl512 I mean, not really. The government is what's causing it, and the civilians are merely propagandized and coerced into complicity. I'm honestly fine with hurting the Russian civilians in the course of enacting sanctions, since some of the tax revenue goes towards the war effort. But even holding the babies hostage? I mean for Christ's sakes, we're like two levels of indirect responsibility down now and they're babies.
ozgirl512 · 26-30, F
@BlueVeins everything you say is true, but it also applies to Ukraine's babies
BlueVeins · 22-25
@ozgirl512 Yeah I agree, we shouldn't restrict Nestle or any other formula company from exporting to Ukraine. In fact, we should probably try and encourage it...
