Idiots with pet snakes

I live in Florida. Idiots buy these exotic snakes and guess what they do? Release them in the wild when they can't take care of them. Guess what happens? We get this! Tell me this isn't your worst nightmare.

Thank you. Goodness I don't bloody get it but yes they are idiots, the whole lot of them and that is indeed a bloody nightmare. It took two grown a$$ men 20 minutes to wrestle that thing?

@SW-User yes they have bounty hunters on these snakes. they are using male snakes with sensors to find female snakes and they move in. they are in the Everglades which is mostly swamp. Its head wa like a brick. open the link to see it
SW-User
@akindheart yes, I read that one too, that's the first time I have heard about the scout snakes
akindheart61-69, F
@SW-User yeah those horny males go for the target!!

When I was 10 years old my father took me and my mother on a trip down to Panama. One of the things he wanted to do was drive to the Pacific ocean so we could go swimming. We thought that was really neat...because we had flown in from the Atlantic side, and we only had to drive 50 miles to get to the Pacific!

There was only one highway that directly connected the east and the west, and we were barreling along driving, and all of a sudden we saw an enormous log stretched from one side of the highway to the other. I said, "Daddy, what's that?"

We bumped over the log, and he told me, "That's a log!"

I turned around to look at the log, and I said, "Daddy, that log is moving!"

Maybe my biggest fear. Not opening that

@akindheartI heard they continue to grow until death.
akindheart61-69, F
@cherokeepatti try 125! read the article
akindheart61-69, F
@SW-User i don;t know about the death thing but being in the everglades is a dream come true for them. they have the run of the place and they lay eggs like crazy
TexChikF
A few years ago the police shot a Gaboon Viper in the Trinity River between Dallas and Fort Worth. Its the largest poisonous snake with fangs that are 2" long.
TexChikF
@akindheart I hear college kids can make good summer money by shooting them (air guns) for a bounty.
akindheart61-69, F
@TexChik they have rules and regs down here. i think they sell the skin to the highest bidder and they can win prizes for the largest and the biggest catch.
TexChikF
Yep, idiots. They think it's cool until they can't handle it.
ozgirl51226-30, F
Bloody stupid people
akindheart61-69, F
@ozgirl512 exactly. it has decimated the wild life in the area
ozgirl51226-30, F
@akindheart i know... There's been articles over the last few years about the issue
Ozuye50236-40, M
Hold up here I鈥檝e had my fair share of pet snakes and honestly they can be pretty awesome! But I do agree that you should be 100% informed about the size of some of them I know pythons are a problem but the vast majority are off springs of an accident that happened from a breeder
Barefooter2546-50, M
This is a huge problem in Florida. Pythons are released into the Everglades where they threaten the native wildlife that lives there. Blame the morons who bought them in the first place. Most of them failed to do any research on these animals before purchasing them.
This happened in my neighborhood a few years ago馃槄 They sent an emergency text to everyone in the area.
cherokeepatti61-69, F
Monkeys escape and breed there too. Other things also. End up with invasive species.
Like a scene from Anaconda, the Everglades are becoming our worst nightmare.
cherokeepatti61-69, F
I hate when they let their Gaboon Vipers escape
carpediem61-69, M
Lots of stupid people in the world
TheLordOfHell41-45
I heard a 215 pound python was recently caught there
akindheart61-69, F
@TheLordOfHell that is what this story is about. it also had 125 babies in her
TheLordOfHell41-45
@akindheart Jeebus thats a lot of nope ropes
SW-User
Yes, I've been reading about this for several years now, this invasive species is a major problem in the Florida Everglades, it's so creepy.... and it's so sad that wildlife is dying off due to the competition on the food chain
I think it will be a tough job to cull these nasties
SW-User
This is why I like a few months of winter 鉂勶笍 馃ザ @SW-User
