St Nicholas Day

Today is the Feast of St Nicholas.

I encouraged my daughter to follow an old family custom of ours by leaving out her shoe to receive a small present. Early this morning I filled it with a small cloth bag of hair accessories. I had woven her name into the bag.

Unfortunately I tripped over other things she had left on the floor and woke her up. After she had opened her present there was a big smile on her face.

"Today's going to be a good day", she said 😊
