Because they do not practice the ethics their religion teachers. This is especially challenging when the differences of the old and New Testament.

I don't know what the Old Testament teaches but I agree with you that Jesus taught a fundamentally different way to live.

The Jesus character said that people should engage in self-mutilation to avoid sinning. I wonder why only one or two people follow that teaching?
