This sounds very distressing. It would be good to hear what the first church's leadership has to say before I reach a conclusion about their behaviour, but I am very glad you have found what you needed somewhere else. You seem to be taking exactly the right attitude towards those you perceive as having been the cause of your hurt and and are listening out for what God has to say in these circumstances.

@peterlee Absolutely right. I've been in my fellowhip for 50 years and seen some moving through. They often don't stay long anywhere, sadly.

@FreddieUK I’ve moved a lot around the country. Some churches target different age grounds. I found the strongest Christian fellowship in a Baptist church.

@peterlee That's been my home since birth. I believe the best fellowships have a broad range of ages and demographic in the congregation, but none is perfect.

Perhaps we need to explain that UK Baptist churches are not as politically and socially narrow as many US groupings.

Sorry to hear that- your former church directly violated James 2:15-16.

It's also great to hear you don't use the excuse of not fellowshiping with other Christians and attending church because of a bad experience.

Just ensure the church you go to has the Gospel preached regularly and preaches the Bible as God's word.

With the greatest respect careful with the phrasing of being on hands and knees praying it can be misconstrued as saying that request should be a priority in prayer- I regularly ask for prayers for the persecuted church and even then I won't use phrasing like that. But yes, you are in my prayers.

I don’t go to the church my family sometimes used to visit because the new pastor’s wife is like that lady at the baseball game that wanted the baseball from the kid 😅 same attitude

They used to have a different pastor there with a nice family but they left and moved for some reason .. the new guy seems obsessed with revival but i think revival for his own vanity not for God 😬 😒

My opinion anyway.. sigh haven't been to church for years.. sorry they are uncharitable toward you.. there’s other food assistance programs for destitute people, maybe try outside the church

I am so sorry you had to endure this. 💔😢 It isn't right, but sadly it goes on. They would much rather help a nonmember then a faithful member of the congregation. I definitely understand why you switched churches. I hope this new church recognized how valuable you are and treats you like the child of Christ that you are. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

They would fit in my local church well.
Don't let them walk on you too much.
There are good and bad churches both. Even in the good churches, there are some obnoxious folks attending.

@MayorOfCrushtown But all in need of Gods grace.
I am so very sorry :( No, god is not humbling you, there is a reason why all the paulite churches were found without favor in revelation 2, they became haughty and self righteous, refusing to do christian work. church leaders are a prime reason why I am an Atheist
