Protestants say bowing down to statues or people is idolatry. Here's an example of someone doing something looking like worship to somoene.

1 Kings 18:7 7 As Obadiah was on his way, Elijah met him. Recognizing him, Obadiah fell prostrate and asked, “Is it you, my lord Elijah? example of someone doing something that looks like worship.

Research the difference between worship, like you're describing, and bowing like they did back then or still in places like Japan.

@PathwayMachine it doesn't matter protestants say kneeling in front statues is worship not veneration. here we have someone porstrating himself which is more of a worship gesture than veneration.
@RisingMorningStar7 And they also don't consider the apocryphal works inspired. Praying to someone is certainly worship. Not NECESSARILY bowing, although it could be considered as worship, depending on the context. One thing is for sure. Most Christains do worship the cross, which is a pagan phallic idol, a religious symbol of fertility.

@PathwayMachine What I mean about someone prostrating himself in front of a prophet in the Bible shows that veneration is something with the mind and heart. And How the mind and heart is directed towards that person be either worship or veneration.
