@Lackwittyname what's nontheist mean
@nobodyishome I do not believe in any kind of god or higher power.
ABCDEF7 · M
@Lackwittyname You mean you are Atheist?
@ABCDEF7 Essentially, just trying to be clever with the nontheist. But I really do not spend much time even thinking about it anymore, whatever it is, it is.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname ah, that's also cool. Then you focus on other things that are more important to you. Yea, priorities should be a thing. I get you :)
ABCDEF7 · M
@Lackwittyname There is a term "Agnostic", that you may like. Better than Atheist.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@ABCDEF7 no, I don't think that's what he meant.
ABCDEF7 · M
@nobodyishome Then it is Atheism
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@ABCDEF7 no, it's not. Some people are not religious or spiritual, and they focus their thoughts and energy to other things that are more in trend with their state of mind or for whatever reason. What's wrong with that. We are technically a muslim family, but my brother is totally like Lackwittyname. So I understand his point of view and what he is trying to say.
@ABCDEF7 I just do not really care anymore and find it a waste of energy for something that is pure speculation
ABCDEF7 · M
@Lackwittyname If I was like you, a non caring person, I would have avoided to even comment in the post. Anyway, it's up to you, what you portray your self as. Just the nontheist seemed a bit unclear to me.

Have a nice day !

@Lackwittyname nontheist = not spiritually inclined. What's wrong with that :)
@nobodyishome I think there is nothing wrong with that. When I was younger I put a lot of thought into religion, studied world religions in college (not as a major just some courses). Now I just figure whatever it is, it is, but in the end we all die at some point.
ABCDEF7 · M
@nobodyishome Theism and spirituality are two different things.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname hey, you studied world religions in college. How do they teach and about what religions :)
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@ABCDEF7 how so :)
@nobodyishome Well it was just a professor going over the major principles of the different religions, I cannot remember all of the ones we studied, but we covered at least 12 of them, Shintoism, Zorastianism, Buddhism, Hinduism, some African based ones I cannot remember the names of and of course the major ones. It was really interesting. So while I do not carry any particular faith, learning the principles of them is also very fascinating for me.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname What is Shintoism :) I thiink Hinduism is the oldest established religion out there. Or?
@nobodyishome I think Zoroastrianism might predate Hindu, but I am not 100%, I just remember it being really old ha. Shintoism is an Asian religion, I think from Japan. I looked it up, here is a blurb:

Shinto means the way of the gods. Shintoism is an Ancient religion of Japan. It started at least as long ago as 1000 B.C.E. but is still practiced today by at least five million people. The followers of Shintoism believe that spiritual powers exist in the natural world. They believe that spirits called "kami" live in natural places such as in animals, plants, stones, mountains, rivers, people and even the dead.

Oh yeah we did Taoism too
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname sure, like superheroes are real? Even I know and believe that very strongly.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname ah i think you meant more of a supernatural creatures.
@nobodyishome Well that is just what I pulled from the sites description. I took that class 30+ years ago so needless to say my memory of it is poor.
nobodyishome · 31-35, F
@Lackwittyname wow, why did you study religions of the world? :)
@nobodyishome It sounded like an interesting class and at that time I did put a lot of thought into religion or spirituality, plus it might have filled a requirement, I do not recall. Just like I took a logic course that fulfilled a math requirement.
