We all try to be good in the present but what about our pasts?
And I'm sorry to have to bring it up, the sins of our ancestors?
We all fall short of the glory of God. :)

The sins of ourselves you are right but what the hell do our ancestors have to do with anything?

"Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them; for I, the Lord thy God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation"

@Matt85 Read more about biblical context. Quit watching Benny Hinn and watch a decent biblical teacher.

That’s not why you go to hell, and you don’t actually want to go there.. for all eternity.

May I refer you to Revelation 20:10-15 (1599 Geneva Bible GNV) = "10 [a]And the devil that deceived them, was cast into a lake of fire and brimstone, where that beast and that false prophet are, and shall be tormented even day and night for evermore.
11 [b]And I saw a great [c]white throne, and one that sat on it, [d]from whose face fled away both the earth and heaven, and their place was no more found.
12 And I saw the dead, both great and small stand before [e]God: and the [f]books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book [g]of life, and the dead were judged of those things, which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 [h]And the sea gave up her dead, which were in her, and death and hell delivered up the dead, which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 [i]And death, and hell were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life, was cast into the lake of fire."
&
Revelation 22:14-15 (ERV) = "14 “Great blessings belong to those who have washed their robes.[a] They will have the right to eat the food from the tree of life. They can go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside the city are all those who live like dogs—those who do evil magic, those who sin sexually, those who murder, those who worship idols, and those who love to lie and pretend to be good."
Notice that people whose names are not written in the book of like get tossed into the lake of fire, the second death. They do not go back to hell.
And notice that evil people whose names are written in the book of life get eternal life, but they can't enter the golden cube.
You should really read the fairytale.
In the Islamic versionn when people die they simply stay dead until Judgment Day. They are then resurrected and the good guys get their own paradises.
Most of the women go to hell but each guy will get 70 of them from hell and they will be virgins. He also gets 2 90 foot tall translucent women creatures and a herd of cute boys and an eternal erection. Children can also go to paradise. There's no mention of children getting into the biblical golden cube.
In the Islamic version if you end up in hell you will be tortured forever. You are most likely thinking about the Islamic hell when you think about hell.
In the Islamic hell everyone will also get eternal life. In the biblical hell your name must be written in the book of life to get eternal life and you can be an evil person and still get it. Conversely, you can be a "good" person and still get tossed into the lake of fire. So, know your hells.
I'm sorry, you got that wrong. Better get back to reading.

@Diotrephes Your final conclusions are incorrect. I don't know much about Islamic hell, and it doesn't matter since I believe Islam is false.
You said you could get a good person tossed into hell, or a bad person written into the book of life. All that is incorrect.
1) There are no good persons - everyone is a sinner. No one is good. This is the first thing that shocks you when you finally get some understanding.
2) That's why you need salvation within the Lord's plan - through acceptance of the Savior
3) Everyone has eternal life... but it depends on where.
4) One's name in the Book of Life is God's judgment, not for us to say. Furthermore, it means that the Lord has provided you with the ability to accept his Son our Lord Jesus Christ for one's salvation.
5) So...everyone deserves punishment, but by accepting Christ one doesn't get what they deserve, they get mercy.

@Djc57 Well, if it works for you, enjoy it.
Too right! No one needs a religion to be a good hearted person who does kind things.

It’s funny how the religious people are always the ones who pass judgement and try to push their beliefs onto others. They don’t tend to be a good advertisement for religion.
I have no interest in religion either, stick to your own beliefs and take no notice of the “do-gooders” who think they know better.. they don’t.

@DHggmu Oh, most are very humble in claiming to have the sole truth. It's a knack they develop over time.

It’s based on an outdated book used to control people.

You delusion is that you are a good person... Thats where you fall down.. You do not seem to know yourself.. Maybe pride is your problem? in any case sooner or later you will discover you are not Good.. It's best to find out the truth sooner rather then later..
