Have you ever been invited to church?

My friend has invited me to go to her church with her this upcoming Sunday. I was quiet for like a min just because i was susprised by that. Lol my family and other past friends have never invited me to church and Ive never really been curious anyway but now Im gonna attend a church service and by choice. 😱
Also being invited to a baptism or wedding doesnt count. I mean service like sunday.

My mother was a Sunday school teacher at the southern Baptist church. So i have been many times.

Once i had a friend invite me to her church and i never went back. It was terrifying. They yelled, danced, were speaking in tongue, rolling on the floor, etc.

Im not religious, I was till I was 16. I had a friend a few years ago try to get me to take scientology seminars, they call it a religion but I call it a cult.
Thankfully she left scientology

Ya, I ve been to catholic Sunday masses by invitation couple of times…but when it got to receiving the catholic Communion at the end, I didn’t.

Yes but it was a long time ago. A young woman asked me to go that i hadn't known for very long. We ended up being a couple for many years. 😊

Nah, my disdain for religion isn't a secret. It ruined my childhood and left me with a lot of issues I'm still dealing with today.

@mooncrest02 I'm slowly working on getting through it. It's just hard when they still don't think they did anything wrong. They've gone back down the religious rabbit hole at this point too and I really don't have time for it after everything I've been through. 😅

@mooncrest02 yup, that's pretty much where I'm at. I love them, but I'm not really interested in being around them anymore.

The only reason I am is for my niece and nephew. :)

Yes, every so often, a friend or neighbor will invite us to attend.
You definitely need to know what denomination and or type of church,
Sometimes, communion is different, or the Lord's Prayer, and some hymns. 👍🤗🙏😇🥰

i am an atheist i get invited now and again because of that. in the idea that if i feel whatever it it they feel in a church I will find God.

It is cool though--it is never in spite or meaness. they just are wired different and run more on theri feelings where I am more data-based perception of how the world works.

@mooncrest02 Good to hear that it is a Christian Church. I was asked to come to a Baptism at a Lutheran Church. It was interesting to go to that church since they conduct their services much differently than the Anabaptist Church I regularly attend.

I have been to different church services many times. But the cultish types scare me the most and I will be damned if I become a member of one of them. Yet there were some that were tranquil and fit more with my personality

Yes, many times.

The local-ish Jehovah's Witness (JW) people have often sent out something about Easter, but I have been invited to various services.

Yeah and sometimes declined, sometimes gone. Im happy with where I stand on the whole thing, so go for support
