The Quran references some 40 characters who are named in The Bible.

@Matt85 they totally stole Abraham from the Jews though .

@Patriot96 only if they won’t convert . My Albanian ancestors converted .
@AthrillatheHunt
No such thing. You better read your Quran again. That's not what it says at all. Koran 47:4 and 191:2 talks about beheading infidels (Believers), whether they convert or not. Whether they convert or not, no one should be kicked out of the church. That's not love.

@Matt85 Yeah, Islam copied. If you think we worship the same God, I highly doubt your salvation.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Did I ever say that?
@Matt85 So why bother pointing out? It appears you are encouraging the author.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Because it's true.
@BritishFailedAesthetic @Matt85 What similarities do you actually see between Islam and Christianity? That's what he's talking about.
@LadyGrace I'm just pointing out to him who cares about pointless similiarities?
There is only one way to eternal salvation.

While the Quran and the Bible share some similarities and speak of some of the same characters, figures, and things, this is because both texts come from the same shared Abrahamic heritage context; the same middle eastern culture. However, the Koran presents distinct interpretations and perspectives much different from the Bible.
Muslims believe that the Quran is a revelation from God to the Prophet Muhammad, while Christians believe that the Bible is the divinely inspired Word of God, given by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit to holy men of old.
2 Peter 1:21
For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake, as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

@LadyGrace And I believe as much. The original poster just said there were similarities and I just said yeah, some of the same people are mentioned because its good to have some common ground. We also have common ground with Judaism, The Torah being the first 5 books of The Bible. Rather, I want to celebrate the common ground and investigate why it exists.
@Matt85 Why do you want to celebrate common ground? I still don't get it.
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@BritishFailedAesthetic Because I believe people should be able to believe what they want without being attacked. If we have common ground, even if it's just names, it's a starting point for me to bare witness.
@Matt85 This is where it's complex- obviously people have the right to and we don't force anyone.
But do you truly believe only God's word is truth? Do you truly believe that Christ's shed blood on the cross is the only way to eternal salvation?

@Matt85
Since when is quoting the truth and scripture, attacking people? God wants us to spread the truth, not associate Islam with Christianity. That's all we were saying. Sometimes the truth hurts and that's when people go on the attack. If we don't stand up for what we believe, we'll fall for anything. It is necessary to show the difference in their doctrine compared to ours, which informs people why we do not believe in beheading people and kicking them out of the church just because they don't conform to our beliefs. I didn't write their Koran rules. They show how harshly and drastically they differ from the Bible. That's why you see all the opposition when God's truths comes forth.
