Changing a faith must be a person's own choice... My muslim relatives and friends do not treat me the way they used to .. because now I'm a hindu an idolater believer of many gods because i go to temples. according to them I've downgraded...i hate these bastards

Abrahamic religions like Christianity and islam dont like the idea of converting to other religions they believe only they have the truth and everyone else is wrong.

A devout muslim will follow the qurans teaching when it calls upon muslims to kill anyone who changes their religion.. I hope you are mindful of your own security.. If a true devout muslim finds out that you have changed your religon and can get to you they will attempt to kill you..

@Adstar Exactly true and I've seen the verse on it, in the Quran.

Because it represents a loss of control.

Religion seeks to control the members of the belief. If anyone switches they have lost that little bit of that control.

This is with all religions.

@DeWayfarer Nothing could be further from the truth. Not all religions seek to control. There are many religions that do not.

@LadyGrace look at Hinduism (India), or Taoism (China). Then look at the laws were those religions are. I don't need to go into any of the Abrahamic beliefs.

Also I'm not referring to beliefs as such. I'm referring to organize RELIGION. If there's a building involved it's organized.

Now give some examples of where a "religion" with some type of structure that doesn't "attempt" to change the laws or attempts to keep certain laws in effect.

Religion controls, beliefs do not.
. you believe that a change of faith is normal. that is your faith.

.. they believe that a change of faith is not normal. that is their faith.

you call them names and swear at them instead of respecting their faith.

someone else's faith should be respected.

maybe.

I was taught that although Hindus worship many gods, they believe that all the gods are just the many facets of one god. They find it impossible to worship a infinite being like god as one entity.

But if you paid them the same they would probably give you a pass.

Good for you.
