How does a person know if they have God's approval?

Some feel that having head knowledge about the Bible gets God's approval. Some feel that wearing religious garb or religious paraphernalia or giving false worship to images or religious idols or having religious pictures and religious items in their home proves that they have God's approval. But is that the case/reality concerning those realistic scenarios?

By trusting Gods Word..

Once you trust God you can trust what He says and if you trust what He says you are assured that God will fulfill His promises to those who trust in His Word..

If you use religion and reality in the same context than that's your problem right there.
@seotelkniwt genesis proves Its not Gods word.

2 great lights? Only a primitive society would believe the moon is a light.
@Ryderbike how did that ancient one know that those 2 luminaries, the sun and the moon, were lights then? Who told the person that was inspired to write the book of Genesis that those 2 luminaries were "lights"?

That socalled "primitive" individual would not be capable of having a scientific name for those two lights in the heavens. It was not necessary. People of that time knew what he was talking about. The Bible is not a complicated book to understand and love. For those like you that's. Ok end of conversation. Back to the question.
@seotelkniwt

When did the word “light”become a scientific name?

A deep and connecting feeling from your heart.
"God and I, we be mates."
We're all God's children and all have God's approval regardless of who we are or what we've done. It has nothing to do with religion. The idea someone isn't deserving of God's approval is a product of the church and has to do with control.
I think that people who follow Gods heart have his approval.. regardless of if they think they believe in him or not..
@SStarfish How does one follow God's heart? What does it take to do so? If a person doesn't believe in God, that one is not more prone to following God's heart. How does one find out what's in God's heart to truly follow?

Thank you for your sincere heartfelt thought.
@seotelkniwt idk but i think it has something to do with pure intentions.. and selflessness
@SStarfish that's very true. Those two qualities "pure intentions and "selflessness" can certainly help a person follow God's heart, because God is that way. And He expects us to be that way too. Your beautiful reply reminds me of Philippians 4:8 which says:

"Finally brothers, whatever things are TRUE, whatever things are of SERIOUS concern, whatever things are RIGHTEOUS, whatever things are CHASTE, whatever things are LOVABLE, whatever things are WELL SPOKEN of, whatever VIRTUE there is and whatever PRAISEWORTHY thing there is, CONTINUE considering these things. The things that you learned as well as accepted and heard and saw in connection with me, practice these: and the GOD of PEACE will be with you."

A person knows that because of their deepest intuition or craziest delusion, unfortunately it's usually the latter
Easy…they lie to themselves
@Ryderbike lol 😁. That is true. They feel that they can serve and worship God their own way. They have their own agenda and way of worshipping God and they dream that they have His approval.
Question: Can someone get your approval if they contradicted you and lied against you or slandered your good name? Nope. And what if they go around saying you and them are good friends? Do you get my point?
@seotelkniwt I get your point but more importantly history tells the story of the atrocities committed in the name of religion,
@Ryderbike that's a whole nother thread.

Having Gods Mercy is the thing that should be desired..

They don’t.
@SW-User You're absolutely right. Unless a person examines the Bible they will never know if they have God's approval. Question: If a person wanted to get your approval, wouldn't they have to know something about you? Wouldn't they have to know your likes and dislikes and then follow up on what you approve of if they wanted to be your friend?
