How does a person know if they have God's approval?

Some feel that having head knowledge about the Bible gets God's approval. Some feel that wearing religious garb or religious paraphernalia or giving false worship to images or religious idols or having religious pictures and religious items in their home proves that they have God's approval. But is that the case/reality concerning those realistic scenarios?

If you use religion and reality in the same context than that's your problem right there.
@Vin53 true religion helps one to appreciate the reality of what's going on in the world, but most importantly what the end of this wicked world situation will be like.

The world isn't wicked. Its us, the inhabitants who are the problem. We live in a very dismal cold reality life.

@seotelkniwt
@seotelkniwt and every religion believes they are the true religion,
@Vin53 I absolutely agree with you when you say the "inhabitants" are the problem. The question is what or who besides humans have caused the suffering and wickedness in the world?

Think about this: when the Bible uses the term "world", it is referring to (1) humankind as a whole, apart from their moral condition or course of life, (2) the framework of human circumstances into which he lives, and (3) the mass of mankind apart from God's approved servants See (First John 5:19 and Revelation 12:7-12).
@Ryderbike Of course they do. If they didn't believe their religion is the right one, they wouldn't be there right? The problem comes when a religious organization is not following the standards, laws, principles, and guidelines of God's Word the Bible. That's the measuring stick and flashlight to that enables one to see the difference between true religion and false religion.
@seotelkniwt the bible is a fairy tale and a very violent fairy tale , written by primitive people , easily disproven.

Example

Genesis 1:16

God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
@Ryderbike Of course you know you are entitled to your own opinion and viewpoint, which will not make a dent in honest hearted persons thinking. Smart folks do thorough investigations of God's word.

So what has Genesis 1:16 have to do the question on this thread? Your whole reply is not related to the question?
@seotelkniwt genesis proves Its not Gods word.

2 great lights? Only a primitive society would believe the moon is a light.
@Ryderbike how did that ancient one know that those 2 luminaries, the sun and the moon, were lights then? Who told the person that was inspired to write the book of Genesis that those 2 luminaries were "lights"?

That socalled "primitive" individual would not be capable of having a scientific name for those two lights in the heavens. It was not necessary. People of that time knew what he was talking about. The Bible is not a complicated book to understand and love. For those like you that's. Ok end of conversation. Back to the question.
@seotelkniwt

When did the word “light”become a scientific name?
