One of the weird things about religion to me is that the Muslims and Christians have been at war pretty much as long as their religion's have been aro

But the weird thing about it is that they both worship the same God, they just have different beliefs on who the main prophet/messiah was.

Abrahamics are all a bit touched like that. Tell them you believe in something other than their book god and watch them froth at the mouth.

@Ceinwyn Very true

@Ceinwyn lol right, I believe in God myself but I also feel most if not all other religions/beliefs have a lot of truth to them and should be respected as well. I highly doubt there is a hell and if there is such a place I don't imagine it's full of innocent, good people who choose to not believe in Jesus Christ. I feel it'd be more for the evil people like Hitler and Stalin, and even than I doubt it's eternal punishment

@Sweetguy024 There is no hell. Those of us who live, love and die go to what comes next. Those who don’t, death is probably an absolute end.

Well, while respecting the sentiment I don't think that is entirely true

In fact I would argue that no two people worship the same God

But I think the whole trinity and sacrifice of Jesus casts an entirely different light on God - as a character - than the old testiment

From what I've heard, and it would be interesting to hear from a Muslim on this, Allah is a lot more abstract and indescribable than the Christian God, who is often seen as a personal God

Of course folk versus scholarly opinions will differ across both and at least from a Muslim perspective it is the same God

@SW-User Soosie is a muslim who celebrates Christmas. She'd be good to talk with
