How do you calm yourself down when you're panicking

What do I need to do to make my brain work with me not against me hahaha

I let it run it's course and find that it goes away quicker. For me when I try to stop myself, it just makes it worse later. I find some place quiet to let it out then have a smoke. I'm so used to it now I can talk my way through it and be okay.

First: Panic solves nothing. It will not change the result. Resist panic.

Try to breathe deeply through your nose.

Try to count your breaths.

Practice grounding techniques.

I tend to pace a lot when I’m panicking… sometimes I’ll step outside to change the scenery (feels calmer in nature). Running my hands under water can help.

Are you having any physical symptoms? What are they? Just asking because they can vary from person to person.

When I panic, my hear rate rises dramatically. My mouth goes dry and I kinda start sweating.

Breath slower, blow more out than you take in. It’s called hyperventilation. Causes a spiral of panic

Giving my son a sour candy helps snap him out of it because it changes his senses. Maybe something like that could work for you?
