I use white noise to help fall asleep. My TV has a picture off option, so the TV is still on, but I can turn off the picture so basically it looks like the TV is off. Anyway I play a white noise sound through the TV to help me fall asleep.
Do this, half an hour before bed put your phone down and get in bed. The light from the phone is what is keeping you awake. I stopped using my phone in bed because it was making my hands go numb because of using my elbows to support my arms to use the phone. But I also had problems falling asleep at a decent time.
Like right now my work has no overtime, so 10pm is a good bed time for me because I get 7 hours sleep, I get back up at 5am. Last night I was in bed at 9:45pm, turned on white noise and fell asleep eventually.
