I Hug My Pillow While Sleeping

It feels so good. Actually, I have four - two on one side. and two under my head.

But it's the top one I hug at night. It has a satin pillowcase that is cool even on those torrid nights, and I don't wake up sweating and overly warm.

I read somewhere that a satin pillowcase prevents or at least lessens facial wrinkles. I know, I know, don't believe everything you read...but not only does it work for me, but I redoubled my efforts after going to a grammar school reunion, and one of the prettiest girls in that class had a face full of literal cracks. She looks so much older than she is.

I have cotton weave cases for the other three pillows, but the satin one is the last one when I make the bed...soft, cool, comforting.

Zzzz...

I use a few extra pillows. One I refer to as my "outrigger" to prevent me from putting too much weight on one shoulder. An unrepaired torn rotator-cuff. Half the people I know who had torn cuffs repaired seem to regret having it repaired.

The torn cuff doesn't bother me unless I sleep on my side with too much weight on it, but then it does't hurt until a few hours later, waking me. Damn! Nothing like waking to shoulder pain.

So thanks to my outrigger pillow I can sleep through the night and awake still pain free :) unless I somehow manage to disconnect from it during the night. So I try to hug it tight as I drift off to sleep.

@Heartlander Sorry you have that problem with your rotator cuff, but I hope you don't have an interrupted sleep pattern at night. I usually get up at least once between midnight and dawn to use the bathroom and my knees are both arthritic and stiffen when I swing my legs down to stand. Thank God for my walker.
