If Ronnie would play once in a while HE would still be my favorite... there are a slew of Chinese players (like Wu Yize who is playing Sean Murphy this minute in The Masters) who will soon dominate the game.

That is one helluva interesting question. Maybe being introduced as "the greatest of all time" at every tournament puts a lot of pressure on him? Maybe he knows he hasn't got it anymore... Tiger Woods left golf abruptly and wisely(?). Too bad Ali didn't hang up the gloves a lot sooner than he did.
