As I grow older I realize that it’s ok not doing well
In a lot of aspects in life and work, it’s OK not to excel in what you are doing and still live on well. I have focused a lot on my work for over ten years only to realize that it does not worth it. I did not accomplish anything at work, no promotion, no respect or appreciation received at work. In life, I am single, with no children, no family of my own. Now at my new job, colleagues in my team are laid back guys who always make mistakes or tell our senior that they do not know how to do their work, and they can get away with it. They got higher pay than I do, have their own apartments and children. From my observation, it seems that as long as you do something and do not aim to achieve good quality or result, in the end, you will get more rewards than people who care about quality and aim for excellence and perfection.
