It's very rare in the animal kingdom, but so are males raising offspring or taking on parenting roles. In species where males do, they often form monogamous pair bonds with the mother of the offspring. Humans are one of the few mammalian instances of this, and even we aren't perfect examples. It's just not that common for mammalian males to try their hand at being dads.

Even in species that do form pair bonds, they often aren't wholly sexually monogamous, but rather socially monogamous. Mostly looking at birds and fish for these examples. I think a few rodents do this as well.

I think it's a wonderful ideal, especially for the sake of child rearing, but it's definitely an exception rather the rule when it comes to mating. Many people manage to make it work, but how much of that is due to social stigma is up for debate.

It just doesn't seem like it's a very viable strategy

@TinyViolins It is also common for animals to crap in the open. So... Just saying
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@Infamous607 I've been petitioning my city to build toilets for wildlife for years, but you can't fight city hall. It's like, why do I even bother paying taxes?
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@TinyViolins Good. It's decided then. Until animals start using porta johns or people start crapping on parking lots, we cannot accept that just because animals present a certain behavior it's enough to equate the same behavior in humans.
I knew you'd see it my way
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@Infamous607 Absolutely. Every time those scientists tell us humans descended from animals, I just tell them to prove it. Turn my dog into a sexy Asian lady for me.

Maybe they all evolved from some other beast, but we were made special from dirt and some dude's rib. There's no comparison whatsoever
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@TinyViolins Ok then.
Monalisasmith86 · 41-45, F
@TinyViolins if lions and birds can be monogamous so can humans

It is also common for animals to crap in the open.

It's also very common for homeless humans to crap in the open, so what's your point?

What relevance does your post have to the question at hand or even to the response given by @TinyViolins?
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie if I have to explain it. You'll never get it. Like a joke. Get it?

But I'll try..

Just because something applies to animals it doesn't mean it applies to humans.

That's a logical fallacy
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie @swirlie Glad you're back
Feel better?

If you have to explain it, that would suggest that you never presented your point with clarity the first time you attempted it, unless the first time you were only joking in your response to TinyViolins which is what your post appears to be doing anyway, but writing in pretentious joke-form also happens to be your typical writing style as well, which allowances must be made for by the reader once they get to know you.

Just because as you pointed out, something applies to humans, doesn't mean that it doesn't apply to animals as well, which of course is contrary to your perception.

Your weak example of animals defecating in the open is no less common in our society than homeless humans defecating in the open, which means that human toileting habits have obviously become one in the same with those of wild animals or even domestic house pets.

Unless you were attempting to tell us a joke or you were attempting to make a mockery out of TinyViolins assertions pertaining to commonalities being consistent between humans and some animals species, then you have failed to make your point.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie That's what I love about you.
You're always ready to tell everybody around you that they are wrong
People must love you at parties.

Oh. And just because you use a lot of big words doesn't make anything said more valid. It only shows that you have a need to appear smarter than most.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie
Btw...
I just sent you a friend's request.
Should make it easier to find me.

@Infamous607
Stay focused and answer my questions. All you have done so far is made several attempts to distract attention from the fact that you have no idea what you're talking about. Either stay focused or stop trolling @TinyViolin's thread.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie

I think you might have an inflated sense of self importance thinking that you can just go about saying...do this ... do that...😄

Does that really work???

Some might even say that an inflated sense of entitlement is a sign of self esteem issues.

That's what I've heard. I'm not a very smart man.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@swirlie
Are you going to accept my friend request or what.
Then we could hang out .and...stuff

@Infamous607
You are having a very difficult time answering my questions. Why do you keep changing the subject?

I forgot what the questions were.

@Infamous607:

It is also common for animals to crap in the open.

@swirlie:

1) It's also very common for homeless humans to crap in the open, so what's your point?

2) What relevance does your quoted response above have to do with the SW question at hand, or even to the response given by @TinyViolins to that same SW question?
