He’s 39 and she’s 50 or 51 that’s only 11 or 12 years. Plenty have that age gap in a relationship. 13+ years is a bit more. 18-20 years is quite unusual. So if he’s 30 and she’s 50-59 that’s a bit much.

I knew a woman who was 54 and her husband was 36 at the time. Now that he’s probably nearly 54 and she’s now a senior citizen that sounds weirder.
