Nothing extraordinary. We met on OKCupid. I suppose the more quirky part of that story is that we had a good laugh about how we both almost skipped mentioning in our profiles we were artists because we didn’t want to attract anymore crazy artists. We talked over the phone a lot for a couple weeks while I was recovering from surgery then finally met up at a cafe along the bay. That was almost 3 years ago now.

It was a really bad rainstorm and we and our respective friends, in separate groups, but walking/running close to each other, ran into the closest open door we could find to get out of the torrential rainstorm. It happened to be a bar/restaurant and we all became instant friends!!! We dated for several years and were engaged for two years but it didn’t work out. I cheated. He was the love of my life

Two truths and a lie.
We first met at a bike shop I owned but she was far too young for anything but a friendly smile.
I was shot down over enemy territory. The rescue team got to me first but my wounds were serious! Hers was the first face I saw when they took me off the chopper. She was beautiful and I asked her, if I lived would she be my wife? She said yes and I looked into her eyes and said, "Then I shall LIVE for you!" And here we are...
She moved with the family to Idaho and came back for a visit. She was older and more legal now. We were both at a party, I was with a girl I was no longer actively seeing. It was sort of a breakup/goodbye date. We had both reached the same conclusion at about the same time, no hurt feelings or angry words. The newly ex-ed chatted with her mates and I was approach for conversation by guess who?
There's a lot to tell about the past 36 years, I won't try here.

I met them on this site, actually. Unfortunately (for me) I fucked it up and broke up with them despite my negative feelings being unrelated.
They're happy with someone new, and I'm glad they're happy.

We lived opposite each other, me 10, her 11. We played in the fields together as children ; I was impressed by her kindness and artistry, she a painter, I a pianist. We were the closest of soulmates before we became lovers. I won a scholarship to London, she to Belfast. We swore fidelity to each other but it was not to be. After a year of keeping it she went out with another guy. A few months after I graduated , she married him. C'est la vie, I suppose.
I was popping wheelies on my BMX and generally showing off, a young kid asked me if I'd go out with one of the girls sat on a nearby bench.
I asked which one, and he said any of them.
I picked the one in the middle.
35 years later we're still married.

@Mindfulness 🤔 Was it a briefly worded fairy tale that I read just now?
@sspec True story bro.
Two interesting points, none of the girls had expressed any interest in going on a date, the lad was being a little shit.
The girl I picked turned out to be his sister!

@Mindfulness I had to smile to that. Be by Her side. Always.
