What exactly made you realize you had married the wrong person? Was there one definite event or turning point there was no going back from?

Keepitsimple · 51-55, F
I’m not going to go into it here but the no turning back part was when I got pregnant. I chose to give my daughter a family. The end.

@Keepitsimple Good for you! We all do what we have to do! I'm glad you were able to do that!

When I realised all the things I was promised would never happen. When he made me know I wouldn't ever be enough for him. I can live with it as long as he's here for our daughter

@SW-User I am glad he's there for your daughter...but still....sorry you had to go through it.

@Tomorrow He's an amazing dad. Just a crap husband.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@SW-User I have seen that happen with a friend of mine too. But better than being saddled with being a crap husband and a crap dad.

Thankfully I've never hit that point and hope it will never happen. We're 16 years in and it's still very good.
Gangstress · 41-45, F
@CountScrofula awww that's awesome! Fair play to you and your Mrs!
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@CountScrofula That is great! You are very blessed!

Two of the ex's had women in the house with them when I came home unexpectedly early. I don't react well to that. In both cases I walked right out and got a divorce. In the case of the third ex, I was so unhappy, and so restricted by him that I really didn't have much of a life. When he actually threatened my freedom during an argument, I decided right then and there that I didn't want to live the rest of my life in such misery.

@4meAndyou Thank goodness you are a strong woman! Still...so sorry you had those experiences. Hopefully you are happy now despite the past!
4meAndyou · F
@Tomorrow Yes, I am happier now than I have ever been. Without toxic people all around me, I finally have peace.

Probably when she slept with a guy from work, and then left me for yet another dude. Pretty sure she wasn't the right one for me long term.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@DB4L8 Oh good! So glad it worked out afterward and you weren't still lamenting!
DB4L8 · 51-55, M
Nope. I cried the tears I needed to cry and moved on. :) @Tomorrow

When the demon left her body saying he’d had enough
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@JohnnyNoir Yikes!
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@Tomorrow I left with the demon. We remain good friends
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@mysteryespresso Yes. That bites!
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Came home to an empty house.
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@uncalled4 Og gosh! Thats awful. :(
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
@Tomorrow Hey, I got the message. She returned after a few weeks, but the damage was done. Just the idea that she vacated the house was a mortal wound. But as a great songwriter said, "If that's the way you want it, then that's the way I want it more".
Tomorrow · 56-60, F
@uncalled4 It would be difficult to miss that message! But seems like you've gained perspective and somewhat made a certain peace with it now.

@SW-User Not holding a grudge...
That's a difficult trait to master.

@SW-User It is but some people find it difficult to get there.
