I disagree, at least about marrying young. If you carry wild oat seeds in your pocket, you’re not ready to marry. If you think marriage is an economic safety net, think again. You are not ready to have children. If not getting your own way causes you to feel like a two year old who absolutely deserves to own a motorcycle, you are not even ready to be an adult.

Wise people definitely marry, but the process moves much slower, without the difficulty of hormones they have not learned to manage.

Yes, people used to marry young, but that was a different world. Life spans were shorter, and a decent job could support a family. People did not ‘need’ what they need today. Cell phones, cars, air conditioning, private schools, golf club memberships, exotic vacations, wildly expensive weddings, salon hair and nails. Young people are younger today. They’re still playing.

Marriage is not for everyone, some have been hurt and are afraid of that pain, others refuse to do what is necessary to get along. Others have no intention of honoring their vows.

Then there are those who (like me) believe it was the single best decision of my life. I chose well and work hard to make sure he chose well too. It takes two to make it work, and when it works, it is amazing.

I'm now getting ready to be married as an older, wiser person. Idk about all that. But I still love me some Agatha 🤷🏾
