Should a marriage license expire every four years so you can decide if you want to renew it?

You can have a contract drafted up to terminate a marriage after a length of time and what is to be done if the contract isn't going to be renewed.

Frankly, i think this is a great idea. It prevents people from being trapped and allows people to reassess who they are and where they are and of they are living according to mutual or individual goals. It doesn't force any "bad guyism" and allows both people to agree things are or aren't working.

The concept of marriage is severely outdated.

Always thought hand-fasting was the way to go. Bonded for a year and a day.
You know, this is the kind of thinking that civilization needs. Outstanding!!

I would definitely need to see the cancellation terms.

I thought no fault divorce was supposed to solve all of this. 😅
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@calicuz I think it's still a crappy process to go through even in no fault states

And if you have kids just go into shared custody

That’d keep them on their toes.. license to parent too 😅
Divorce absolutely needs to be simplified and the arcane laws revamped.

Not even sure we should have one. 😉

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout or death every 4 years
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Some of us expire faster 4 years seems reasonable right? 🤣
Ferise1 · 46-50, M
I’ve thought about that but after 10 years I wanted it to last for life
