If you are divorced or widowed, how long before you stopped wearing your wedding ring ?

If you are widowed, do you still wear it ? Or have you switched it to your other hand ?

I have been a widower for 9 years this coming March, still wearing my wedding ring and no intention of ever taking it off

Never had a wedding ring. Men wearing wedding rings isn't all that common where I come from. I've been a widower for seven years, I still wear the ring my wife gave me about a dozen years ago. I don't really understand why one would take off a ring in response to losing the person who gave it.

My grandmother changed her rings when my grandfather died. She kept her wedding ring in a special jewelry box but then got a different ring that she wore on the same finger. I have that ring now (she bought it when we traveled to Israel together. I had it sized for my pinky and I wear it on occasions when I want to feel close to her.
We were married in 1969, she died in 2013, I still wear my wedding band.

My mother was widowed, and continued to wear her wedding ring as long as she lived. Those who were divorced stopped wearing their wedding rings after their divorces were finalized.

I stopped wearing my wedding ring, right after I got separated.

I wanted the indent, and tan lines to disappear as soon as possible.

Huh? I'm married over 40 years and have never worn a ring. But I never wear ANY jewelry, it makes me uncomfortable, sort of claustrophobic.

Unfortunately I gained weight and couldn’t wear mine. My wife lost weight and couldn’t wear hers so the two years before her death neither of us wore rings.

Took it off after the divorce and put it in the china hutch then gave it to my son to use for their wedding. He wears it now.

@uncalled4 My baby sister had a beautiful wedding ring, and she switched it to her right hand after the divorce. Our brother once commented that she had her ring on the "wrong hand". Shrugging, she replied, "Well, I married the wrong man, so…"
