Today's Marriages

Why marriage become most discredit nowadays and lost in value ?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
No... Why do you think that?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@Hougal I remember hearing the divorce rates were up a few years ago.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@Matt85 Are you sure? Maybe Yes.. But globally it's a desaster !
Hougal · 31-35, M
@Matt85 In UK by example, I have a friend that said me that young people generally marry just by competition (when their friends marry and spend by example 5000$ they they do most in their marriage) ...
Bleak · 36-40, F
No one understands what Marriage is all about. Marriage is just not about having babies.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@Bleak Yes you're right.. it's a long journey
Max41 · 26-30, M
Even if a jihadist bIast himself, in between a public place of 200 people,
aIIah has promised him that he will get 72 more girlfriends in heaven .
Hougal · 31-35, M
@Max41 Funny 🤣🤣
Baremine · 70-79, C
@Max41 why in the hell would anyone want 72 girlfriends. Trying to live peacefully with one is hard enough. 72 would drive a man insane.
Bleak · 36-40, F
@Max41 So lame.
eMortal · M
The main purpose of marriage is to raise children. If people had that in mind they'd be choosing their partners carefully or wouldn't rush into marrying their crushes.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@eMortal I understood
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
That’s just not true. You’re only looking at the worst cases.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@WintaTheAngle I have no chance with Love...
Maybe I'm not eligible!
WintaTheAngle · 41-45, M
@Hougal If it’s important to you, you won’t give up.
Hougal · 31-35, M
@WintaTheAngle Okay... Thanks you for your advice !! You're right!!!! I will still hoping and trying!!!
Well, there was the spiking divorce rates following the sexual revolution, and then, in my country at least, marriage was made into an official joke
Hougal · 31-35, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP Why? Why this huge Gap between us and Old generation??
@Hougal it's like I was saying: the sexual revolution told us that consequences that are more than 5 minutes away aren't worth worry about. And duty? Pffft... duty-shmuty. Marriage is about duty and long-term consequences. So why do we even need it when we can have sex and children without bothering with "a piece of paper"
Hougal · 31-35, M
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP You said the truth!!! Right!
Workerbee · 31-35, M
Because most people marry too early, people need to take time to get to know their person and then marry them, it’s simple but I guess not so simple..
Workerbee · 31-35, M
@Baremine yes you are an exception as there are always exceptions I was speaking for most marriages
Workerbee · 31-35, M
@Baremine also yes lack of commitment as well
Baremine · 70-79, C
@Workerbee marriage is hard work. I remember back in 75 when we had been married almost 8 years and a friend of mine was over. He was going through a divorce.
My wife and I were arguing and he commented "Jo and I were married for 6 years and never had a fight."
My wife and I in unison replied " There is your problem, You didn't know each other."

People that are married have two brain controlling one machine. Arguments are how you get to know each other and melt into "The two shall become one."

My wife and my reply to our friend was in one voice at the same instance.
