Having an existential crisis really sucks

The past twenty years have flown by. It's all been just surviving and putting out fires. Going through the motions everyday. Now I realize that I'm old, and there are certain things that I will never experience. So many things that I wanted in life that I will never know. Because there just isn't time. All my time is committed to my obligations, to my children, my job, my broken marriage. I was hoping that by this age I wouldn't feel so lost.

Just when I thought everything had come together it all fell apart. Successful careers, two children who did well and became independent, made all the right decisions in financial matters, house paid for and could live comfortably in retirement. And all it took was one fall, an illness and it all unraveled. I wish you the best and hope for change in your life.

@SageWanderer oh my gosh. You did everything right, you did all the right things. I wish I could say the same. I'm sorry about the illness, I hope you are healthy now.

@Lilliesandlight I’m healthy enough considering my age but my wife has a debilitating condition.

@SageWanderer I'm so sorry. I'm glad you stayed with her. Some spouses just don't want to be bothered and leave their spouse high and dry.

@Lilliesandlight I made the commitment and will see it through.

@SageWanderer that's what a real man does 👍
