Noooooooo [title too short]

So my roommate (formerly bf) has a long-time friend who claims to have a thing for me. We've never met in person, but we've talked on the phone, exchanged vids and pics, and have texted each other for years. Roommate knows about it and claims he's okay with us being friends.

Recently, the friend called my roommate and told him that he's been "in love" with me since we first talked on the phone years ago, and asked roommate if he was okay if he (the friend) "pursued" me. Roommate apparently said it was fine.

Idk if I can fully believe it, because earlier that same week, roommate had told ME that he doesn't want me to date anyone while we live together. I hadn't planned on it anyway. But if he felt that strongly, why did he give his friend the "okay" on pursuing me? 🤔

Also, the friend lives in another state so it's not like we'd even be able to regularly meet up or anything. It's more like a LDR between us. It's nice to be able to talk and text with someone who is always nice to me and interested in what I have to talk about. It's been a little difficult to avoid getting a crush on the friend in return, but I think it's safer to remain uninvested. I don't trust anyone anymore.

Believe me, LDR are a big responsibility and it's alot to deal with.

I tend to agree with your thinking. You don’t need a LDR for sure and I am having difficulty trusting myself. Follow your instincts and intuition.

He doesn`t make sense. He doesn`t want you to date anyone while you live together and yet he pretty much pimped you to his friend. 🤔 Go with your thinking.

The reason he said it's ok is because there is no way his friend will actually every be near you.
Most importantly, he has no right to tell you what you can and cannot do.
