@Thinkingdeeper excuse me for butting in, I agree they (you,masked man& wife) have been lucky in love and of course reciprocal kindness is there. I was unlucky that I didn’t find reciprocal kindness honesty and other things needed in my marriage.

@hartfire to say there is no luck involved suggests that a person in a poor relationship didn’t earn the kindness everyone else deserved. We have some control but not completely. Some people truly get caught between a rock and a hard place. Yet it is good to encourage the attitude that we can recreate better circumstances for ourselves despite what we are born into. I do not believe we choose where and into what circumstances we are thrust into in life.

@Stuffy Sweet isnt the word in reality. She always was, (and still is if crossed) a fighting Scot..But we always were a perfect fit for each other and always had the same goals in life. Right from the start. So there never were any serious battles of principle.. Just disagreements on the best way to achieve a goal..😷

@SunshineGirl She regularly helps with feeding and engagesn with those who might just vegitate otherwise. Of course, most of the time talking to me she thinks she runs the unit, or we own the place..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman There is a teenage girl on my wife's ward who will probably never leave the hospital again as her terminal condition is too complicated to manage from home. She helps out with reading stories and just sitting with and talking to other children. When she is well enough the nurses talk to her as though she is a trained auxiliary. This has greatly improved the quality of what is left of her short life.

@SunshineGirl Of course.. It gives her days meaning. And thats how she will make a difference with her contribution. Something we all aspire to..😷

@AngelUnforgiven It does. Her dementia means she has her own reality that only touches ours from time to time. But I felt I had to share this, to let people know what wonderful things can still happen within dementia..😷

@FreddieUK And thats what I am doing. I count myself lucky. I didnt expect to still be adding to the nice memories at this point..😷

@PinkMoon I know it..Of course, having to say "No" to her any time brought out the Glasgow fish wife immediately. But she made me better...😷

@ShenaniganFoodie Yes.. Always there as an advocate for those who had no voice.. That got her into trouble as a manager.. Now its appreciated. Its hard not to feel good about that for her..😷
