Friendship between man and woman?

So how should we see the truth with our mind or heart when we're face with the end? Believe rather either side wants to admitted or not both sides will suffer. How one deals with that once again goes back to one's character if able to remember the pleasant times with out feeling betrayal. Friendship is endearing quality between two on individuals as if to say I'm always here. But life is messy at times and so we've to part ways will hopefully no ill will towards them.
