Do they have to be a boyfriend? I personally love to reach out to random people and try to strike up a conversation, keeps things fresh.

Actually no that's just the first thing that came up to my mind. I just crave for company and some attention that's all :)
I'm almost feeling less after bring independent for so long

@LonelyMonster: I definitely understand that; been isolated myself for many years now, the days when no one is online seem like the end of the world.

I just want to feel loved and cared for.... right now I just feel like a piece of cardboard flying through space

@LonelyMonster: is it more about love than company? I know that at least for me, I've fallen into a bit of a trap where I'll let anyone in, in hopes of finding love.

Can you tell me more about it? I don't really get it

@LonelyMonster: I just find myself so desperate for contact that I can often scare off potential partners. I haven't seen a person outside of my doctor and my brother in many years, so the prospect of someone even potentially having an interest invokes a "let's meet right now" response. Which can certainly be off putting to many people.

On top of that, it's left me very vulnerable to those who would prey on people who are desperate for some sort of contact like myself, which has resulted in a lot of wasted money and irritation.
