Is this statement true about the way men and women communicate?
A woman can effortlessly speak an average of 6,000-8000 words per day, in contrast to a man; he utters a mere 2,000-4,000 words. A woman will talk about her problems out loud; she will express options, possibilities, concerns etc. Women perceive thinking aloud as being social and friendly, but men see it differently, he will think that the woman is giving him a list of problems that she expects him to fix, so he will become anxious or stressed out. That is where men get the idea that we are nagging.
My husband. Everything is nagging. Everything.

I was just asking because I do seem to have this problem with my own husband. I will be sitting there talking or venting about issues that I might be having and honestly I only want someone that listens to me and empathizes, but my husband will be like, "Well what would you like me to do about it?"
Often I don't understand why he ever expected me to think he should solve the problem in the first place. So maybe women and men do communicate differently.
Of course, it doesn't ring true in every situation as everyone is different.

@NineLives: Yes..we have similar conversations...it is very frustrating because I am not looking for answers or for him or anyone elze for that matter to fix thinga for me. Usually I am just allowing myself to organize thoughts out loud.
